Darn Shadows

Despite the pervasive nature's of the Dark Shadows phenomenon in the 1960s there were few contemporary parodies. To my knowledge, Mad Magazine never honored the show with a send-up (though they did produce parodies of Batman and Star Trek.)

Above is what might be the one major illustrated parody of Dark Shadows, from Marvel Comics' short-lived Spoof comic. The Mad knock-off only lasted a few issues, but its debut featured lampoons of The Mod Squad, the movie Marooned and Dark Shadows. It was written by Roy Thomas and illustrated by Marie Severin.
