Don May, Jr., founder of Synapse Films, has shared a handful of images on Facebook this week from the company's upcoming restoration of Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA. He notes that these shots do not represent the complete work of the restoration process, but damn ... nice work, guys.
SUSPIRIA is one of those movies that's suffered from so many competing (and frequently crummy) home video releases over the years that I've never bothered to update from the Blue Underground DVD. I'm probably stuck with that edition for the near future, though: Synapse has no plans to set a release date for their DVD/Blu-ray edition until after restoration has been finished, so we might not get a look at the final product until much later this year — if not 2016.
Regardless, color me excited.
